Korg Triton Studio 61

The Korg Triton Studio 61 is the first music workstation that empowers you with the ability to go from creative concept to compact disc. Beginning with the revolutionary M1, the Korg name has become synonymous with music workstations. The new Korg Triton Studio 61 is the culmination of 15 years of advances and refinements toward one goal: equipping you with the most advanced, user-friendly and musical, music making tools available.

From its stunning new stereo concert grand piano to its many powerful new Programs and Combinations, the Korg Triton Studio 61 is sure to fire your creativity. And with room for up to seven PCM expansion boards, a DSP modeling synth and thousands of new sounds, you'll never run out of inspiration.

The Korg Triton Studio 61 all new Open Sampling System opens a world of possibilities. In-Track Sampling lets you sample directly into the sequencer, so you can add live instruments and vocals to your songs. Resampling enables you to create custom loops and remixed sounds. It can also extend the Korg Triton Studio 61 generous 120-note polyphony and eight simultaneous effects.

Add the internal CD-RW drive and you can burn audio CDs, import samples, save data and rip digital audio. With a built-in 5GB hard drive and SP/DIF digital I/O (ADAT & mLAN I/O optional) the Korg Triton Studio 61 can function as the centerpiece of your growing digital studio.

The Korg Triton Studio 61 shares a great heritage with the TRITON "Classic" - the original instrument that has swept across the world to great acclaim over the last few years. Both are based on Korg's HI synthesis system, which offers an advanced PCM-playback synthesis engine with plenty of power. A massive collection of 429 multi-samples (all played back at a stunning 48kHz sample rate) is shaped through dual multi-mode resonant filters, advanced envelope generators, modulated by dual MIDI-syncable LFOs and a versatile modulation routing system to produce sounds that are warm, rich and powerful.

An unparalleled multi-effects system offers five stereo Insert Effects with 102 available algorithms, covering everything from traditional compressors, EQ, modulation and delay effects to wilder, innovative choices including Talking Modulator, Decimator (for getting a very nasty, lo-fi sound), 16-band Vocoder and more. Insert Effects can be chained together, modulated by realtime controls, MIDI messages, and synced to the tempo of your music. Two master effects (with individual send amounts) offer a generous 89 possible algorithms with all the same type of control, followed by a 3-band global EQ. No other synthesizer (except our Karma Music Workstation!) offers so many simultaneous effects to help shape your sounds and your songs.

The Korg Triton Studio 61 offers a number of performance-oriented realtime controls that allow you to add expression to your playing, and to take control of your sound. Korg's venerable joystick offers pitchbend when moved to the left or right, and two different modulations sources when you push it forward or pull it back toward you. This can be used for everything from simple vibrato control to adding LFO-based filter, volume or effect modulation. A smooth-feeling ribbon controller is located just below the joystick and is freely programmable to control any aspect of your sound. Above the joystick, two assignable switches are often used to "lock" the ribbon or joystick to a desired setting, freeing up your hand to get back to playing! They may also be used to switch octave settings, add portamento (a smooth gliding between pitches), or as freely-assignable modulation sources.

Four knobs serve double-duty - first as dedicated controls for Filter Cutoff and Resonance along with EG-Intensity and Release (affecting the envelopes of both the Filter and the Amp at one time). With the touch of a switch these same four knobs can also control any four additional parameters you choose - often to provide powerful control over the effects, or any part of the HI synthesis engine. Even the Value Slider can be used as a performance controller!

First introduced on Korg's forward-thinking Z1 DSP synthesizer, the Korg Triton Studio 61 features two dynamic polyphonic arpeggiators. If you think of arpeggios as simple up/down patterns, then think again. The Korg Triton Studio 61 comes loaded with 370 patterns covering everything from realistic guitar-strumming and keyboard comping, to many dance bass lines, lead riffs and tons of great drum patterns, with room for over 500 of your own. The polyphonic arpeggiators can follow every note in a chord, producing many wonderful and intricate patterns. A special Fixed Note mode allows you to create intricate drum grooves and patterns. Each Program can use a single arpeggiator, and both can be used simultaneously in the Combination and Sequencer modes. Check out some examples of what the Korg Triton Studio 61 arpeggiators can do.

When you've finished composing and mixing your masterpiece, wouldn't it be nice to let your friends hear it? If you add the optional CDRW 1x8 drive you can actually burn finished audio CDs of your tunes all within the Korg Triton Studio 61. The basic concept is that you'll resample the whole Song, but instead of sampling into RAM you'll sample directly to the internal 5 GB hard disk. The file will be recorded as a stereo WAV file on the drive, and you can even play it back from the drive to hear the recording. Resample a number of different Songs down to the hard drive and you can assemble a "playlist" and then burn them all onto an audio CD. From first inspiration to final CD - the Korg Triton Studio 61 is the first and only music workstation that can deliver on that promise.
