Behringer Tube Ultragain T1953

Behringer Tube Ultragain T1953 Description:

The Behringer T1953 Tube Ultragain is a Two channel Mic/Line Tube Preamp with phantom power. It's design using Behringer's Ultra-Tube circuitry which basically runs the signal through a 12AX7 tube for adding tube warmth to the sound. The Tube is not used as a preamp but rather as a signal enhancement. The actual Preamplication is done using the low-noise high-gain 4580 audio op amps. These op amps are very reliable and clean sounding. They can handle more abuse than other IC opamps. I like this design because the IC opamps are (IMHO) better and cleaner sounding than that of any 12AX7 tube. There is a Knob called "WARMTH" and it controls the amount of the signal that is routed to the Tube itself.

It comes with both XLR and 1/4" Tip Ring Sleeve inputs and outputs so signal degradation is kept to a minimum. It can also accept both +4dB Professional Level and -10dB Consumer level devices (mic, and line level). The Tube Ultragain also has phantom power so you can use it with powered mics (most consenders and ribbon mics). There is also a phase reveral (polarity) switch as well as a variable high pass filter. This filter is great for removing low rumble and other unwanted low frequencies from entering the processor.

The RMS level detected VU meters have a peak LED so you know when it's too loud. The VU meters are averaged over 300 millisecs so that why the peak led. There are two Meters per channel. The level meter for monitoring how loud things are is controlled by the Level knob right below it. The WARMTH meter show how much of the signal is being routed to the 12AX7 Tube.

The T1953 is a low-cost and simple to use Tube Enhanced Mic/Line preamp.Everything you look for in a good preamp: discrete input stages, input gain adjustment, phantom power, mic/line capability, switchable high-pass filter and a phase inversion switch. Plus twin 12AX7 tubes and our ULTRA-TUBE circuitry, which lets you add exactly the amount of tube warmth you want to your signal-without adding noise or sacrificing audio quality.
